After rapidly gaining respect among L.A.’s diners, restaurateurs and top chefs, Chef el Nagar felt it was time to give life to his own kitchen, starting Barbershop Ristorante in December 2012, in Suzanne Goin’s AOC space on West 3rd Street, L.A. The first Italian pop-up restaurant in the U.S., the critically acclaimed enterprise grew rapidly in popularity and popped-up again in February 2013 at Le Petite Creperie in Mar Vista, CA, featuring Michelin-starred Chef Morihiro Onedera in an exciting chef-team event.
No compromising for Chef el Nagar’s newly inspired menu for the BARBERSHOP - ABBOT KINNEY project: Shaping the future by celebrating the past represents only one side of the process. His articulate, intelligent, technically brilliant cooking leads to dishes that excel, even when daring creativity becomes the other side of the process.
The name Barbershop came up almost by accident during the initial research for a pop-up location, but it hints perfectly at the experience diners should expect. With only 10 seats, Barbershop Ristorante offers the most cutting-edge in contemporary cuisine, in an intimate, sexy atmosphere, much like that of a barbershop, where secrets are told and conversation encouraged.
Now taking reservations only. Available 7 days in advance at 9:00am. Reservations via Seatme.com. Very limited availability.
