Cupid’s Cuisine

Take the stress out of this year’s Valentine’s Day with these local—and delicious—options. From love-inspired specialty cocktails to aphrodisiac-driven dishes, there’s bound to be an L.A. taste that’ll make your better half swoon. Pulling off a flawless date with minimal strain? We’re smitten. Here are five spots that’ll do just that:

Send a message of your own with the Roman Love Letter, only at Trattoria Neapolis.

1. No passport required. This V-Day, Fig & Olive brings a taste of France stateside. The Melrose spot will serve a three-course prix-fixe dinner ($65) inspired by the French Riviera. Boasting a menu of beef tartar, oysters and a roasted rack of lamb, this meal is guaranteed to be a romantic evening (or should we say soirée?) to remember. 8490 Melrose Place, West Hollywood, 310.360.9100

2. No Valentine’s Day is complete without a bottle of Champagne, and we’re happy to see that The Wallace is obliging. With a prix-fixe menu and bottle of bubbly ($85), this Culver City outpost caters to the romantic in us all. And with a menu focusing on local, fresh produce, the restaurant makes for a good date and a good cause, no less. 3833 Main St, Culver City, 310.202.6400

3. Tired of the Valentine’s Day madness? Then check out Plan Check Kitchen + Bar. With the conspicuously titled “Anti-Valentine’s Day” event, your holiday will be spent in bliss with cocktail specials and an all-day happy hour. Love potion, indeed. 351 N. Fairfax Ave, L.A., 310.288.6500

4. Angelenos looking to add an extra dose of romance to their Valentine’s Day will be heading to Girasol. Chef CJ Jacobson’s seasonally driven four-course Valentine’s Day tasting menu ($75) will no doubt be delicious, but all eyes are on the chef’s supplemental, aphrodisiac-driven dishes. Love at first bite, we think. 11334 Moorpark St, Los Angeles, 818.924.2323

5. “Decisions, decisions, decisions” might be the mantra at Trattoria Neapolis come Feb. 14th. Although there’s a prix-fixe menu just for the special day, the Pasadena hotspot is also offering its regular menu in full. But with wood-grilled veal chops, bucatini pasta and strawberry-prosecco, we might just choose the V-Day menu after all. Cheers, Cupid! 336 S. Lake Ave, Pasadena, 626.792.3000
