When L.A. stylesetters Sara Riff and Melissa Magsaysay gave birth within months of each other, they were both disappointed by the lack of resources for moms who weren’t willing to forgo their stilettos for sneakers. Given their fashion industry expertise (Magsaysay is a journalist and author; Riff is the director of entertainment relations for Jimmy Choo), the duo decided to take action. The result is The Hive, a website focused on the fashion-conscious mother. “We agreed there was a dearth of stylish online destinations that spoke to chic new moms and busy women,” says Riff. With that, we asked the powerful pair to curate their favorite Mother’s Day gifts.
