 Opening reception from 4 to 6pm on Wednesday August 10th. 

Recent and new paintings, archival watercolor pigment prints on Hahnemuhle rag paper, and jacquard tapestries of artists and friends including Cindy Sherman, Roy Lichtenstein, Lou Reed, Kara Walker, and others. Close is noted his highly inventive techniques used to paint the human face, aiming to paint people the way a camera would see them. His first retrospective was in 1981 at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and his work is found in numerous museum and private collections worldwide. Chuck Close was the recipient of the 1995 Guild Hall Academy of the Arts Lifetime Acheivement award in 1991. He continues to have a home and studio on Long Island at Long Beach.
