Angelique & Jason

Carmel Valley sets the stage for a television star’s picture-perfect wedding.

Angelique turned to Etsy for items like the pennant draping the bar.

“We didn’t want too fancy,” says Angelique of Holman Ranch, a place she’s known since childhood.

“I thought he was so cute, so well-spoken,” recalls Angelique Cabral of the night she met her husband, Jason Osborn, at a mutual friend’s birthday party. And true to their wedding theme, Lucky in Love, the two have been inseparable ever since.

With busy careers—Angelique is an actress (this summer she’s shooting a new NBC comedy, Two To Go), and Jason is a senior brand manager for POM Wonderful—the two began looking for a venue shortly after their 2011 Christmas engagement. They looked all around Carmel, the bride’s hometown, “but nothing could beat the rustic chic Holman Ranch,” she says. The couple had to wait, though. The ranch, where Angelique worked during summers in high school, was booked 18 months in advance.

“We had over a year to plan and save,” continues Angelique. “We went up every other weekend for months.” The extra time also allowed the couple to plan special experiences for their guests, 65 of whom were coming from the East Coast for the week. “It was like a destination wedding,” she adds. With a barbecue at her family home, a wine tasting and a Mexican fiesta rehearsal dinner, the couple enjoyed extra time with family and friends.

On the night before the wedding day, the couple exchanged gifts: Jason gave Angelique custom-designed diamond earrings, and she gave him a Tag Heuer watch. It’s only fair that the groom should have something new as well, especially when he oversaw so many of the wedding’s details, like the invites and the whiskey bar. “He cared more about the aesthetics than I did!” she adds playfully.

Though the ceremony started a wee bit late (one of the shuttles got lost), everything else went perfectly. Jointly officiated by Jason’s uncle and Angelique’s beloved grade-school priest, the couple added their own spiritual twist with “Long Time Sun,” a Kundalini blessing sung by the bride’s girlfriends at the end of the service. After dinner, dessert and dancing, the couple was chauffeured through the valley in a vintage Rolls-Royce before rejoining friends for an afterparty at the Running Iron saloon.

Angelique and Jason spent a mini-moon at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur—she had to get back to L.A. for filming right after the wedding—but they’ve got three weeks in Italy on the books.
