Bridal Sign Up

Monique Chao & Keaton Norquist

August 31, 2013 | Legion of Honor, San Francisco

The groom wore a Hugo Boss tuxedo and a bow tie, while the bride wore an ivory Vera Wang Gemma gown—purchased at the designer’s San Francisco boutique—accented with her mother’s jewelry.

Legion of Honor’s lush grounds and stately exteriors proved the perfect backdrop for the bridal portraits.

Bridesmaids wore matching necklaces, which were gifts from the bride, and short Donna Morgan gowns.

Designed by florist Hunt Littlefield, bouquets featured anemones, hydrangeas, vintage and tea roses, tulips and ranunculus.

The bride-designed tablescapes featured gold votive accents and chic La Tavola linens.

Guests were gifted favors of homemade rosemary salt made by Monique’s mother and brother.

The Couple
On their third anniversary, Keaton proposed en route to Osha Thai. “The Bay Lights” shimmered in the background and candles spelled out “Marry Me?” on the ground with rose petals in the shape of a heart.

The Details
The couple chose the Legion of Honor for its stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Monique, an event planner, designed the elegant nuptials.

The Party
Guests enjoyed a best-of-San-Francisco dessert buffet with treats from places like Miette and Bob’s Donut & Pastry Shop (Keaton’s favorite!). An epic dance party ensued to tunes handpicked by the couple, as well as a groom’s speech with a few lines delivered in Cantonese. “They all joked that his Chinese was better than mine,” laughs the bride.
