Bridal Sign Up

Nicole Charney & Paolo Lissia

September 21, 2013 | Casa Romantica, San Clemente

Nicole accessorized her Monique Lhuillier Peony gown with a Chantilly lace-lined, cathedral-length veil by Costa Mesa-based Erin Cole. Paolo donned a Hugo Boss tuxedo and Ferragamo shoes.

Paris-themed invites by Where’s the Party recalled the couple’s romantic proposal in the City of Light.

Designed by Floral Occasions, the bride’s elegant bouquet contained stephanotises, garden roses, spray roses and ranunculus.

Frames held lists of guests’ names and table assignments on a romantic display outside the reception.

To create an intimate dining experience, planner Kerrie Underhill connected several Amalfi tables.

The cake by 24 Carrots featured a stucco-type buttercream frosting, a filling of Bavarian cream and raspberries, and “I’m Yours” and “You’re Mine” lovebird toppers.

The Couple
After Nicole first met Paolo, her friends remember her running through their sorority house, exclaiming, “I’m in love with an Italian man!”

The Details
Nicole spent an entire summer traveling the state with her mother visiting close to 50 wedding venues before deciding on Casa Romantica—the initial locale suggested by her father. To transport guests to Old World Europe, Kerrie Underhill used candelabras and bistro lights, and reception tables were named after cities abroad that “held a special place in our hearts,” explains Nicole.

The Party
Following the couple’s picturesque first dance— on a cliff overlooking the ocean and a stunning sunset— guests experimented at a crepe station featuring a variety of unique fillings, and played dress-up in an open air photobooth.
