Bridal Sign Up

Rick Aguilar & George Lynch

December 16, 2011 | Palmer House Hilton

For the candlelit ceremony, George and Rick pinned lockets, bearing photos of their mothers, to their lapels.

The bold invitation by Elizabeth Grace.

Guests feasted in the hotel’s Honoré Ballroom.

Cocktail napkins revealed a caricature of the couple (and their dog, Billy) in the drawing style of Al Hirschfeld.

Take the Cake plucked this peacock design from the hotel’s famous gold doors designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Guests departed with Garrett popcorn and truffles by TipsyCake.

The Couple
Rick, a 20-year veteran wedding photographer, and his partner George chose Chicago’s iconic Palmer House for the scene of their civil union—the first civil union held at the hotel.

The Details
Rachel Bradley Events and Richard Remiard Event Design fine-tuned the fun: a cabaret performance during the ceremony, cocktails in Potter’s Lounge and dinner in the Honoré Ballroom.

The Party
The BKO Orchestra played “This Guy’s In Love with You” for Rick and George’s first dance. Instant Party Photo Booth provided lasting memories for the grooms’ 79 guests.
