Guests signed a handmade bench for the couple.

Unexpected Elements florals

Susie’s Cakes & Confections detailed the cake with lace accents to match Julie’s dress.

Courtney Caplan of Caplan Miller Events coordinated the day.

Chilled seafood station

Julie chose a couture mermaid gown in lace, while Austin opted for a sharp black Jos. A. Bank tux.

The Couple
Before the big day, the couple buried a bottle of bourbon at the ceremony site to ward off rain, according to the Southern tradition. “It worked! We could not have asked for a more perfect day,” says Julie.
The Details
Sweet down-home details abounded with subtle camo accents and a nod to Julie’s favorite sweet tea vodka with a signature Arnold Palmer. And, in true Southern gentleman fashion, Austin handcrafted a bench for guests to sign in lieu of a guest book.
The Party
Memphis Train Revue from Austin brought the dance hits as guests goofed off with glow sticks and fun props late into the night.
