#1 Angela Tran & Dennis Pham

March 16, 2013
Private home, Highlands

WHY WE LOVE IT
After a two-year, London-to-Houston courtship, Angela and Dennis tied the knot. The homey details, such as wooden-based pillars with off-white candles and mix-and-match vases, created a cozy, yet elegant, atmosphere.

THE VENUE
“I had always dreamed about having a backyard wedding, ever since watching Father of the Bride for the first time,” said the bride. Dennis’ parents’ river house in Highlands was the perfect location.

SWEET LOVE
Three tiers of deliciousness brought simple flavor to the event with a cake by Alma’s Cakes.

THE DETAILS
Events in Bloom adorned the tent with floral chandeliers. Wooden tables mingled with fine upholstered chairs and tufted round banquettes for soft, at-home flair.

#2 Cabell Walker & David Wood

August 24, 2013
Julia Ideson Library

WHY WE LOVE IT
Sophisticated Old World architecture juxtaposed against personal touches defined Cabell and David’s nuptials and subsequent celebration. The couple’s friendship through high school and college finally turned to romance in 2009, and three years later—to her surprise—he proposed during a run in Memorial Park.

THE VENUE
Stunning coffered wood ceilings are the hallmark of the moody, 1920s-era Spanish Renaissance-style Julia Ideson Library.

THE DETAILS
A beer table with a variety of Texas craft beers and the Right On Band, a 10-piece show band with a full horn section, created a Texas-style black-tie and boots party, as friends from as far back as high school celebrated with the couple on the dance floor.

#3 Michelle Reyna & Stephen Taussig

July 20, 2013
Hotel ZaZa

WHY WE LOVE IT
“Since I literally planned the decor around my love for shiny things—glitter and confetti—we did smoky grays, bright metallics and gunmetal sequin linens with pops of white from all of the flowers,” the bride says of her hopes for the sexy, fun and fabulous wedding. As an agent at the Neal Hamil Modeling Agency, Michelle knows a thing or two about sexy.

THE VENUE
Speaking of sexy, few venues in Houston have the luxe, smoldering vibe of the sleek and swanky Hotel ZaZa. It’s where the pretty people play, pop Champagne corks and celebrate their wow weddings.

THE DETAILS
Shimmer and shine from the glittery decor, Argentine alfajores and “love mix” CD party favors for the guests, coupled with the Reverberation DJs spinning vinyl to synchronized dance moves, combined for a party the happy couple and their guests won’t soon forget.
