Bridal Sign Up

Shavonne Jordan & Antonio Hill

October 12, 2013 | Castle on the Lake

Shavonne, a registered nurse, and Antonio, a lean coordinator, gazed lovingly on their wedding day. “I planned something that I thought would reflect who we are as a couple,” says the bride of their nuptials.

Shavonne and Antonio wanted to marry at sunset, but had to wait for a few drizzles to subside. “When we looked at the sky, we saw not one, but double rainbows,” remembers the bride.

Shavonne worked with the venue to create a unique lovebird theme.

La Tee Da Flowers arranged succulents, roses and a vintage brooch from a friend in Shavonne’s bouquet.

Boutonnieres of herbs and berries had stems wrapped in burlap.

The bride paired her romantic 1920s-inspired beaded dress with a hairpiece created by her mother.

The Couple
Shavonne and Antonio met at the age of 19, when she worked at a restaurant with his mom. The couple reconnected 13 years later at a karaoke night. “He says he chose me as his wife when we were 19,” says Shavonne. “It’s like a real-life fairy tale.”

The Details
A romantic palette of soft neutrals was reflected in the sunset ceremony at Castle on the Lake, which provided candles, linens and birdcage decor.

The Party
Friends and family celebrated the union with wine from East Texas’ Kiepersol Enterprises winery and viewed a fireworks show mid-reception. The self-serve candy bar was a hit!
