Park Hyatt Chicago and NoMI Kitchen’s renowned Masters of Food & Wine series will kick off 2017 with the ultimate interactive experience: Taste of the Midwest. Taking place on Sunday, February 19, 2017, this collaborative venture will join NoMI Kitchen, Mabel Gray and Leelanau Brewing in a journey through masterful culinary pairings and small batch sour beers, bringing together two James Beard nominees in one unforgettable evening.
Continuing NoMI Kitchen’s commitment to local purveyors and quality ingredients, Executive Chef Edward Sura will craft a five-course dinner to perfectly pair with Leelanau’s unique, small-batch sour beers. Chef Sura will be joined by James Rigato, chef and owner of Michigan’s Mabel Gray. As a Michigan native, James Beard nominee and Top Chef Contestant, Chef Rigato’s food philosophy echoes that of NoMI Kitchen with a commitment to culinary perfection composed of locally sourced ingredients. Leelanau Brewing will provide exclusive small batch sour beers to pair with each course. Head Brewmaster Charles Penska will be present to explain the unique brewing process of Leelanau as well as the specific characteristics of each beer. Throughout this intimate reception and dinner, attendees will be able to speak with these three experts and learn more about the art of Midwestern cuisine.
The special event will take place starting at 6:30 pm with a reception in NoMI’s Art Gallery, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm in NoMI Kitchen. Tickets are $90.00 per person, not inclusive of tax and gratuity.
