The Easter holiday is traditionally a big day for brunch or an elaborate lunch out. If you haven’t made plans yet for Sunday April 16, here are some delectable ideas to consider for a springtime respite, glorious eggs and all.

Hop on over with the whole family to Brennan’s of Houston (3300 Smith St., 713.522.9711) on Friday, April 14 for Brunch with the Bunny including photos with the Easter Bunny ($30 children). Sunday is Easter brunch featuring a 3-course Creole fete with Atchafalaya crawfish omelets, Creole smoked salmon, shrimp and grits, strawberry shortcake and more ($56 adults). Live bunnies on the patio!

Indulge in Mexico’s coastal cuisine at Caracol (2200 Post Oak Blvd., Ste. 160, 713.622.9996). The Sunday brunch buffet features an array of appetizers such as ceviche, vegetable salads, enchiladas, roasted meats and egg dishes like chilaquiles, migas and huevos a la Mexicana. Save room for specialty Mexican baked breads, cookies, candies and chocolate desserts ($45 adults, $15 children). Feliz dia de Pascua!

Easter brunch at the Omni Hotel (4 Riverway Dr., 713.871.8181) attracts over 800 guests annually. The elaborate feast starts with Champagne, cheese blintzes, Alaskan King crab legs, and chocolate covered strawberries. Move on to stations including Gulf shrimp and oysters, Belgian waffles, pastas, a prime rib of beef station and desserts ($75 adults). Kids get their own buffet plus photos with the Easter bunny, cotton candy, and a Sand Art interactive ($35 children).

Start your Sunday with State of Grace’s (3258 Westheimer Rd., 832.942.5080) Gulf Shrimp Benedict, a luxe dish crowned with asparagus, shrimp, poached eggs, asparagus and hollandaise. Other mouthwatering a la carte brunch dishes include the massive chicken fried chicken over butter biscuit with gravy, crawfish enchiladas, and the Dutch baby chocolate pancake.

On the second floor of dazzling new Saks Fifth Avenue, 51fifteen Cuisine & Cocktails (5175 Westheimer Rd., 713.963.067) will display an elegant Easter brunch buffet featuring seafood, omelet, carving and dessert stations. Additionally, traditional breakfast fare is on offer, along with cocktails such as mimosas, Bloody Marys and mojitos. Live music is planned for the day ($39.95 adults, $15.99 for kids under 12, and children under 5 are free).
