The Asia Society Texas Center opened the doors of its understatedly elegant limestone and cherrywood building for its sold-out Tiger Ball, chaired by Donna Cole and Glen Gondo and celebrating the culture of Japan.
Japanese sakura cherry blossoms greeted guests inside the Center’s Grand Hall after they mingled outside on the verdant and manicured lawn. Bites of sushi were served during a cocktail hour before taiko drummers ushered everyone into surrounding spaces for a seated dinner, where the guest of honor, Japanese Ambassador Kenichiro Sasae and his wife Nobuko, joined.
After dinner, DJ Baohaus helped gala-goers dressed in festive frocks, traditional black-tie and national attire celebrate till the wee hours of the morning! The most successful Tiger Ball to date raised nearly $1 million, which thrilled newly appointed Executive Director Bonna Kol. –Photos by Jenny Antill
