At the elegant Houston Country Club, beautifully outfitted with fresh blooms, amid a sea of dinner jackets and summery frocks, 200 guests toasted cancer survivor foundation CancerForward.
The New Summer Standard event, chaired by Donna and Robert Bruni and Ellie and Michael Francisco, honored 15-year breast cancer survivor Denise Monteleone. It also recognized Terry Zmyslo, former GM of Houston’s Saks Fifth Avenue, who spearheaded the Houston store’s philanthropy efforts.
A tear-jerking tribute from Monteleone’s son Will and a speech given by designer Bill Hamilton recognizing Zmyslo’s contributions had attendees rapt before a scrumptious surf-and-turf meal.
Later, the Richard Brown Orchestra busted out Motown and Sinatra tunes, and guests hit the dance floor! The event raised a whopping $225,000.
