Hundreds braved the rain on a wintry night, turning out to preview and cheer the grand opening of restaurateur Tony Vallone’s new Memorial City spot, Vallone’s.
Guests, outfitted in festive frocks and furs, admired the modern aesthetic and enjoyed ample vino and hors d’oeuvres, like crabcake balls and ravioli, prepared by young exec chef Grant Gordon. The partygoers then enjoyed a seated dinner of tenderloin, rib-eye and seafood classics, as Vallone himself welcomed and thanked all in attendance.
The evening benefited Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. Memorial Hermann’s Dan Wolterman, Craig Cordola, Ileana Trevino and Susie Distefano were among the crowd of 200, whose total gifts topped $70,000. (For more on Vallone’s, see Food & Drink in this issue.) –Photos by Anthony A. Hynes
