On May 1, 2014, approximately 150 guests will attend the Young Patrons Circle seventh annual gala at the Bleecker Street Arts Club in New York’s West Village. This year, the gala will celebrate the Louvre’s iconic Winged Victory of Samothrace. The Winged Victory is currently undergoing conservation, a project which AFL is proud to support.
The American Friends of the Louvre was founded ten years ago to strengthen ties between the Louvre and its American public and to formalize the longstanding generosity of American patrons. Approximately one million Americans visit the Louvre each year, making it the most visited museum by Americans after the Metropolitan Museum in New York. The Young Patrons Circle is comprised of young professionals aged 21-40 who share a love the Louvre, philanthropy and French culture.
