On Sunday, November 17th, Voices Against Brain Cancer will host its 3rd Annual 5k Run/Walk in New York’s Central Park, in partnership with New York Road Runners. The event will honor brain cancer survivors, their families, and caregivers, and American icon Tony Danza will act as Master of Ceremonies. Kids games and races will happen both after and concurrently with the run.
Voices Against Brain Cancer was founded nearly 10 years ago by Mario Lichtenstein in honor of his son, Gary Lichtenstein, who lost his valiant battle with brain cancer on October 1, 2003. The organization is committed to finding a cure for brain cancer by increasing awareness within the medical community, advancing scientific research and assisting patients and their families affected by this destructive disease.
Registration opens at 7:30 am, walk begins at 8:15 am.
