Young Women's Leadership Network (YWLN) is an organization that knows the importance of educating girls. In 1996 The Young Women's Leadership School (TYWLS) of East Harlem made mistory and headlines as the first public all-girls school to open in the United States in more than 30 years.
YWLN now supports a network of five high-performing girls' public schools in New York City, serving more than 2,000 girls, and nine affiliate schools across the country. The majority of the students are from low-income backgrounds and will be the first in their families to go to college. The schools empower young women to achieve their dreams of higher education, to fulfill their learning and leadership potential and to gain the skills necessary for life success.
The success of these schools has inspired the created of hundreds of single-sex schools across the United States and around the world. Join YWLN and its students in taking a stand for girl's education! Show your support at this year's breakfast!
