‘Tis the season of soups that warm the soul—here, our favorite bowls in town.
T Room: The hot lunch spot at the back of Forty Five Ten is certainly a chic little spot, but it’s the tortilla soup that makes it winter’s finest. With cheese and tortilla strips on top, it’s certainly a classic. 4510 McKinney Ave., 214.559.2332, fortyfiveten.com
Carbone’s: Our favorite take-out and eat-in-bed option comes from this charming Oak Lawn spot—the escarole and white bean is a cold-day must. 4208 Oak Lawn, 214.522.4208, carbonesdallas.com
Rise No.1: They come for the soufflés and fall in love with the marshmallow soup. At least, we did. A tomato carrot bisque with a toasted, puffy cheese soufflé garnish that looks just like marshmallows, it’s a sweet looking, savory soup. 5360 W Lovers Lane, 214.366.9900, risesouffle.com
Boulevardier: This little Bishop Arts bistro has hit a high note with their French cuisine, and we especially enjoy the chilled sweet corn soup with blue crab and brioche croutons. We know we said these soups would warm you up, but we couldn’t leave this bowl off our list. 408 N. Bishop Ave., 214.942.1828, dallasboulevardier.com
Oak: We’re a little obsessed with what new chef Richard Gras is doing at Oak, so it’s no surprise that his butternut squash soup quickly climbed to the top of our must-eat dishes. With burnt cranberry, pepitas and candied ginger, it’s a perfect medley of never-had-before flavors. 1628 Oak Lawn Ave., 214.712.9700, oakdallas.com
