The Big To-Do

We know you’re busy with a multitude of big holiday bashes, but in-between the chintzy parties, check out what’s new to do in Dallas:

Nespresso's new NorthPark location

Klyde Warren Park is now home to its very own skating rink! The 32’ by 100’ skating rink has taken over the Ginsburg Family Great Lawn, thanks to the generous sponsorship of former Dallas Stars owner Norman Green and his wife Kelly. Open till January 31, the rink is offering complimentary lessons, whether you bring your own skates, or opt to rent!

They’ll be opening up their first boutique in Dallas come February, but until then, enjoy Nespresso’s pop-up NorthPark Center outpost this season! Grab a steaming hot cup, something iced, or do some holiday shopping—and don’t skip the dessert menu.

Get Arty
This January kicks off the 23rd anniversary of the Dallas Museum of Art’s annual literary and performing arts series, Arts & Letters Live. Come see authors, performers, actors and more in the multidisciplinary series. Some of this year’s highlights include appearances by Pulitzer Prize-winners Dave Barry and Rick Atkinson, National Book Award-winner Timothy Egan, New York Times bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell, The Office alum B.J. Novak, actress Parker Posey and more. There’s a little something for everyone.

Body World’s Animal Inside Out is officially open at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, and it’s a must-see. Over 100 specimens, each painstakingly preserved by the process of Plastination invented by Dr. von Hagens, will teach you things about form and function you never knew you wanted to learn.

It’s not too late to revel in the holiday season’s most classic indulgence, The Nutcracker. Watch as Clara takes a magical journey to discover the Land of Snow and Kingdom of Sweets along the Nutcracker Prince—it’s the sweetest tradition to pass down to the kids.
