These three ultimately chic weddings prove that when wedding season rolls around, love and style is in the air.
1. Lauren Anderson & Jarrett King
June 18, 2016
Ceremony and Reception: Agnes Scott College
Photography by Dana Lee Jones Photography
The start of Lauren Anderson and Jarrett King’s relationship is what modern fairy tales are made of. During his freshman year at Morehouse College, Jarrett spotted Lauren, who attended Spelman College, on Facebook and was determined to make a connection. After much persistence, Lauren finally agreed to meet Jarrett, and the pair has been together ever since. While on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Jarrett proposed as the sun set behind the mountains. The groom-to-be then whisked his fiancee off to dinner on the beach, where six of the couple’s closest friends were waiting to celebrate. With the help of Breanna Tyler of ellyB Events, Agnes Scott College was decked in fresh roses, hydrangeas and peonies atop tables covered in sequin-embroidered linens for the reception. Inspired by the groom’s last name, King, the decor channeled royalty with rich hues of gold, navy and ivory to create a lavish scene. “We had everyone on the dance floor, and no one wanted to leave when it was over!” the bride says of the fun-filled evening. To bring their love story full circle, Jarrett and Lauren returned to Mexico, where they honeymooned at Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun.

2. April Billingsley & Clarke Williams
May 21, 2016
Ceremony and Reception: Summerour Studio
Photography by The Decisive Moment
After meeting in college, actress April Billingsley and Clarke Williams reconnected on a film set in Birmingham, Ala.—she was shooting a small role; he was working in production. When it came time to propose, Clarke kept it simple and intimate, and on Christmas morning at their home in Atlanta, he asked April to be his wife.
For the ceremony, April donned a Tara Keely gown from Klienfeld Bridal in New York City with custom heels from Shoes of Prey that were adorned with blue bows—the bride’s something blue. After exchanging personal vows, the newlyweds and their family and friends continued the celebration at the reception, which was awash in navy, the groom’s favorite color, and fuchsia, the bride’s favorite color, with elegant centerpieces overflowing with orchids and roses. Following the whirlwind wedding, April and Clarke traveled to Maui, Hawaii, where they relaxed on the beach, zip lined through the forest and hiked the mountains of Haleakalā National Park.

3. Stephanie Waldrip & Blake London
June 18, 2016
Ceremony: The Cloister, Sea Island
Reception: The Cloister Beach Club, Sea Island
Photography by Julie Paisley Photography
After being set up on a blind date, Stephanie Waldrip and Blake London soon became inseparable. The pair was engaged on the rooftop on the Whitney Museum in Manhattan, where they reside, and the bride-to-be soon began planning a wedding in her native Georgia. The Cloister on Sea Island served as the perfect backdrop for the romantic wedding weekend. Stephanie, founder and designer of Waldrip NYC, stunned in a custom one-of-a-kind gown of her own design, which was accentuated with embroidered lace woven in Italy by Aldo Bianchi. The Cloister Beach Club was transformed into a modern garden party for the reception with blush and white garden roses, bay laurel leaves, anemones and tulips that complemented the rose, sea blue, ivory and green color scheme. After celebrating with family and friends, the bride and groom sped away in a 1940s Fleetwood sedan, only one of three in existence, before jetting off on a whirlwind honeymoon in the Maldives, Tokyo, Kyoto and Shanghai.
