An executive jet built for ground duty, Infiniti’s new QX80 offers the ultimate in luxury and versatility for your on-the-go family.
Infiniti’s new full-size QX80 feels right at home on the North Shore. Whether you’re shuttling the kids to sports practice, loading chairs and a picnic for a Ravinia concert or packing up the family for a long weekend at the cottage up north, the QX80 is a family-friendly SUV that knows how to please and pamper its occupants.
From the outside, the QX80 makes a bold statement, riding on optional 22-inch rims that cast a rather intimidating shadow. Up front, a prominent chrome grille sits below the QX’s wave-like hood and is framed by swept-back xenon headlamps. From the side, you’ll notice the QX’s chrome vents, large fender flares and protruding rear tail lamps. The whole look is elegant yet decidedly modern.
The QX80’s powerful 5.6-liter V8 engine puts plenty of power on top, whether you’re merging onto a highway or exiting a shopping mall. Jumping 0 to 60 mph lasts just 6.5 seconds and, surprisingly, the QX80 is rather fuel-efficient, getting up to 20 mpg on the highway. A class-leading 8,500 pound towing capacity will please equestrians and boaters alike.
Inspired by the trappings of an executive jet, the QX offers three rows of luxurious leather-clad seats. Opting for the second-row bucket seats reduces passenger capacity to seven, but keeps the kiddos slightly separated, reducing any unwanted quarreling. Also, two 7-inch seatback LCD screens help to keep passengers entertained, allowing different content to be enjoyed on each screen. The second-row bucket seats also include a center console for storing a Wii or PlayStation. Two buttons in front flip up the second-row seats so third-row passengers can get in and out with ease.
The new $62,700 QX80 can be seen and serviced at Fields Infiniti of Glencoe, a new state-of-the-art facility that puts customers first. Amenities for customers include access to a cafe, where complimentary fresh breakfasts and lunches are served daily. The facility also has a movie theater, business center and a kids’ playroom. 2100 Frontage Road, Glencoe, 847.998.5200, infinitiglencoe.com
