One for the Cheeseheads

The California Artisan Cheese Festival returns March 24 through 26.

Curd nerds, unite: The California Artisan Cheese Festival is returning for its 11th year March 24 through 26.

As in years past, the event will turn Petaluma into a locus of lactic celebration, with farm tours, dinners, tastings, and a cocktail-and-cheese pairing. Much of the fun will take place on Saturday night, when there will be two cheesemaker dinners in Sonoma and the Cheese & Cocktail Celebration in Petaluma, where local distilleries like Alley 6, Venus Spirits, and Spirit Works will team their wares with local cheeses.

As ever, those cheeses will exercise their own powers of persuasion: A very partial lineup includes Cowgirl Creamery, Cypress Grove, Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company, Chevoo, and Bellwether Farms. Tickets to most of the festival’s events can be found through its website.
