Reading Between the Tweets: 49ers Win Big in New England

On national TV, Kaepernick proves himself with big win over Patriots on the road.
Last night, the 49ers came away from New England with a thrilling, explosive 41-34 win that had many Colin Kaepernick doubters jumping ship. After the Kaepernick bandwagon had been relatively balanced with those in favor of Alex Smith, the tides have turned in the former's favor following a four-touchdown performance.
You have to love what Kap did for the Niners, but we must also give credit where credit is due—the defense showed why it's number one in the NFL, harrassing future Hall of Famer Tom Brady all night long. Rookie LaMichael James and wide receiver Michael Crabtree also played huge roles in the win. With Kap tossing the four touchdowns and getting the win, overlooking his mistakes was easy—too easy for some Tweeters.
But that being said, a win in New England is huge no matter the circumstance. And the poise and confidence Kaepernick showed in building a big lead, withstanding a big Patriots comeback, and landing the final dagger in the fourth quarter, was very impressive. Regardless, the 49ers came away with a much-needed victory, and it would be disastrous to even think about flip-flopping back to Smith this late in the season. That doesn't mean that fans on Twitter aren't still divided about who should be playing quarterback in San Francisco. Check out our top 10 tweets about the QB controversy:
One fan thinks Kap fans are jumping the gun:
@TheRealArchieG: The people who are all in on Kaepernick after 4 TDs, and 4 fumbles and 1 interception, are the people contributing to the 50% divorce rate.
But others are, as mentioned above, eating their words:
@nick_taylor2903: I'll take back what I said about Colin Kaepernick. 49ers are going to the superbowl.
Some fans are troubled by the Patriots' comeback and want to see a playoff win first:
Still others trust in coach Jim Harbaugh's decision:
@ironmunky22: Why should the 49ers shell out millions for an under producing QB like Smith when they have Kaepernick's rocket of an arm. Jim knows talent
And a few refuse to believe that Kap made himself look good:
@ayeeestef: Pats defense made Kaepernick look good. I will continue to say put Alex Smith back in until he starts playing.
One acknowledges mistakes, but still finds Kap superior to Smith:
@emesola: I know Kaepernick made his mistakes, but still kept it level-headed. Smith would have crumbled.
With an even bigger game coming up next Sunday, one fan wonders how Kap will fare:
@SCR713: If Kaepernick plays like he did against the Seahawks, the 49ers are going to get destroyed.
And one reminds us that to equal Smith's 2011 season, Kap must bring the 49ers at least as far:
@PriscoCBS: Memo to 49ers fans: Kaepernick moves looks like right one. But only will be right one if they get to title game -- at least.
One fan says the Alex Smith era is officially over:
And the undeniable truth remains - Kap will be the starter. Will it be permanent now?:
