What's new in Napa, Monterey, Tomales Bay, and Big Sur.
1313 Main in downtown Napa launched their new rare spirit program last week, grouped by ingredients like “Apples and Pears,” “Bitters,” and “Sugar Cane & Molasses.” Flights and tastings, like a 1981 Delamain Cognac or 1978 Lemorton Calvados, are served tableside via cocktail cart.
The Napa Valley Film Fest kicks off Friday November 13th for five days of films, celebs, chefs, and as expected, wine. Don’t miss the award ceremony and wrap party at the Uptown Theatre Sunday November 17th at 8 p.m.
Nick’s Cove in Tomales Bay is hosting their 2nd annual Crab Catch on November 10th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., which includes a crab-catching competition for the adventurous or a cooking demo and “crabby hour” for those looking to stay closer to shore.
Coastal fare fest
Big Sur’s Food & Wine Festival is this Thursday at the Hyatt Carmel Highlands with some of the region’s top culinary talent from Cantinetta Luca, Esalen, Aubergine, and wineries from around the Bay Area.
Monterey's new marketplace
The Wharf Marketplace is now open in Monterey, featuring a bounty of local provisions. This month, pick up fall highlights like pink lady apples and persimmons, artisan jams and marmalades from Happy Girl Kitchen, or homemade pasta from Bigoli pasta.
