Last minute Christmas shopping is tough. Luckily, downtown St. Helena is full of one-of-a-kind consignment and home décor shops to check every person on your wishlist. Napa Valley Vintage Home is a treasure trove of artisanal ceramic tableware, lush linens, and at this time of year, holiday decorations—the store has a huge collection of hand-carved wooden ornaments. Acres Home and Garden, just down the street, is also great for decorations or small gifts—like succulent terrariums—and has a great card collection, both for the holidays and otherwise. Across the street is the Napa Valley Bath Company, whose lavender hoof cream makes for a great stocking stuffer, and don’t miss
The Restaurant at Meadowood is the obvious go to if you’re going big, but with Christmas Eve right on your heels, you may be looking for something a little less ambitious. Goose and Gander serves up anything from a juicy burger with duck fat fries to a bucatini with pork sugo, kobocha squash and wine-stewed onions. Make sure to sna a cocktail created by Napa’s go-to mixologist Scott Beattie.
Just a five minute drive from downtown and tucked away in the hillside, The Meadowood is the perfect cozy retreat. Most rooms have a fireplace, which staff will happy set up and start for you—the perfect way to relax after a heavy day of shopping. Of course, no luxury hotel would be complete without a spa treament. Enjoy a therapeutic deep tissue massage, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, grape seed harvest wrap. No matter what you do, the staff is more than happy to accommodate.
