Where to Drink Now: Trocadero

A Tenderloin bar reimagined as white walled hofbrau.
What: This new bar from Dennis Leary (House of Shields, Terminus Café) completely reimagines a worse-for-wear Tenderloin dive, RJ’s Sports Bar, as a white walled hofbrau with a disco ball back bar. Austrian liquor rules the cocktail menu.
Crowd: Second dates looking for a knockout closer mingle with locals craving a break from the usual Rye-Tradition bar circuit. The vibe is a touch swank: Edinburgh Castle regulars need not apply.
Prices: Well-made, unfussy cocktails and most wines by the glass are $10. Bottled beers range from $3 Miller High Life to $10 Le Chouffe.
Order this: The Flora ($10), a dry, sophisticated, and genderneutral sipper made with Kirkwasser, cherry eau de vie, French vermouth, and cassis.
