Affair of the Heart

For eight long months, Su and Al Longman planned a combined celebration for their 10th wedding anniversary and Al’s 60th birthday with Tony Conway’s A Legendary Event team.

Tony Conway’s A Legendary Event floral team used 3,000 Yves Piaget roses and 12,000 stems of orchids for the Longmans’ celebration.

For the 75 invitees, the one-of-a-kind opulent event was a night they will not soon forget. Whether it was the Krug Rosè NV poured all evening, the 4-pound lobster entrees, the generous helpings of Osetra caviar, the one-waiter-per-guest ratio, the après-dinner hand-rolled Cuban cigars paired with Louis XIII de Rémy Martin cognac or the line of black town cars that picked each guest up and waited to carry them home, the Longmans made an indulgent impression that won’t soon be topped. Legendary’s Executive Chef Liz Cipro created the evening’s menu with input from world-renowned chef Thomas Keller, one of the Longmans’ favorite toques.

“Tony is a genius at interpreting one’s vision and taking it up a notch,” gushes Su. “We would never dream of anyone else planning our parties!” Aside from the decadent details, many were simply moved by Al’s loving toast to his wife and the couple’s first dance to the string quartet playing.
