Meat and Greet

Cuts Steakhouse revitalizes Downtown’s restaurant scene with choice meats and global Southern eats.

The seared tuna rice entree with cabbage, noodles, peppers, broccoli and wasabi aioli. “The flavors of the tuna dish are subtle, with the refreshing crispness of the daikon and the citrus from the ponzu, along with the bite from the wasabi aioli, bringing the dish together,” says chef Donnie Wicker.

In recent years, Downtown Atlanta hasn’t been a big draw for culinary enthusiasts—but that’s all about to change, if Muzo Saritas has his way. The Istanbul native recently opened Cuts Steakhouse on the corner of Andrew Young International Boulevard and Peachtree Center Avenue in a 13,000-square-foot space just below Truva Turkish Kitchen, another one of the restaurateur’s ventures. As far as interiors go, think modern Aspen lodge with Euro-chic touches meets sleek sports bar (plus a patio set to open this spring), all designed by locally based Innerworks Design Group. While the flavorful, meaty entrees (juicy teriyaki rib-eyes, hearty New York strips and slow-roasted pork ribs) are certainly worth a stop in, it’s the Southern-inspired global dishes, like shrimp and grits, pecan-crusted salmon and seared tuna rice, that truly make this new steakhouse a cut above.
