No doubt Aspen is the land of indulgence, but when it comes to your kids, let’s not forget the cherry on top. Aspen’s world-renowned culinary scene demands your family doesn’t skip dessert. And while hot chocolate and ice cream are a way to a kid’s heart, these decadent delights will linger in your memory longer than your last powder day.

If your kids like to start their day with banana pancakes, top off the night with the Banana Bread Foster from Steakhouse 316 (316 E. Hopkins Ave.) and watch those little monkeys really go nuts.

Everyone knows kids love shaved ice, but Aspen does it Nobu-style, transforming a simple dish into a performance, a work of art and a sweet treat all in one. Matsuhisa (303 E. Main St.) dishes up Nobu’s Shaved Ice on top of ice cream, drizzled tableside with a trio of yummy sauces.

If you’re looking for a sweet treat on the street, head over to the Popcorn Wagon for handmade Ajax Donuts (305 S. Mill St.) with gourmet combos like maple bacon and chocolate pretzel.

Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream goes from bland to molten hot at Jimmy’s (205 S. Mill St.), where the Volcano Cake is blowing kid’s minds. And leave it to Element 47 (675 E. Durant Ave.) to elevate its award-winning hot chocolate (Buzzfeed dubbed it best hot chocolate ever) with half-and-half, Valrhona single-origin chocolate imported from France, cocoa powder, sugar and a pinch of salt—because in Aspen, even kids like it haute.
