The decadent desserts at these five restos are giving the main courses a run for their money.

THE SOUTHERN GENTLEMAN The entrees at this Southern-inspired gastropub may be big enough to fill the entire plate, but be sure to save room for dessert. Almond nougat semifreddo with swirls of nougat, dark chocolate and toasted almonds, anyone? The servers typically deliver the dish with a few spoons, so be sure to get a bite before the rest of your party beats you to it. 3035 Peachtree Road NE, Ste. A208, 404.939.9845

JCT. KITCHEN & BAR Westside favorite JCT offers a dessert menu almost as long as the dinner one. You can’t go wrong ordering the chocolate layer cake, which, as its name implies, is chocolate on top of more chocolate. It’s delivered as chilled as it is dense, so you may have to wait a few moments for it to thaw—if you can even resist that long. 1198 Howell Mill Road, 404.355.2252

CANOE If you like your sweets a tad salty, Canoe’s popcorn ice cream sundae is the perfect post-supper treat. If the taste of this caramel-flavored sundae isn’t impressive enough, it’s all homemade in house, including the ice cream, which is infused with popcorn for a subtle crunch. It’s then topped with a scoop of sticky caramel-covered popcorn and a generous serving of pure caramel. Movie theater popcorn will never taste the same after one spoonful of this indulgence. 4199 Paces Ferry Road SE, 770.432.2663

BUCKHEAD DINER Diner food gets an elegant upgrade at this Buckhead Life Restaurant Group staple, which has been serving its fresh fare since 1987. After noshing on the addictive blue cheese chips and the grilled chicken breast pretzel club, take a big bite of the dessert that pays a delicious homage to Georgia: the peaches and cream custard. It’s served with peach preserves, vanilla custard and, of course, a brown sugar shortbread cookie. It’s as sweet as a Georgia peach. 3073 Piedmont Road, 404.262.3336

UMI This Buckhead hot spot may be famous for its creative sushi rolls and colorful sashimi plates, but one of the menu highlights includes the chocolate dome dessert, dubbed the chocolate kyu. It may look simple, but this dessert—which is served with a wooden mallet on the plate—is filled with red bean pastry cream, whisky-infused mascarpone and fresh berries. How’s that for rich? 3050 Peachtree Road NW, 404.841.0040
