Gabrielle Rose & Chris Chang

June 25, 2011 | Meadowood, St. Helena

A row of tufted pampas grass framed the ethereal altar made from birch tree poles and hanging white sweet peas. Rose wore Vera Wang.

Cherries Flowers arranged garden roses, snowberry bush and jasmine.

Olive leaf garlands were draped along chairs. Grasses accented by wildflowers dotted the aisle.

The couple’s families, including the bride’s 1-year-old nephew, participated in the processional.

A dramatically lit, whimsical chandelier of cascading white flowers and jasmine vines hung from the ceiling beams.

DJ/electric violinist Dave Kim serenaded guests tableside.

The Couple
The Olympic swimmer with a Stanford MBA (Rose) and Genentech associate (Chang) met on eHarmony while living in San Francisco.

The Venue
“It was like we had been transported to the middle of a forest,” Chang says of Meadowood’s mature trees and moss-covered stones.

The Details
Planner Amy Kaneko used touches of sparkle and luster—from subtly shimmering linens to hanging crystals and gemstone escort cards—to add to the enchanted atmosphere. Guests took home cookies from Mrs. Fields, the bride’s stepmother.

The Party
A playful tribute to the couple’s backgrounds, the menu featured Brazilian feijoada tacos with pork belly and Korean galbi tacos in lettuce cups.
