Ariel Freeman & Paul Sanett

May 29, 2011 | Ivy Room

Paul and Ariel snapped photos at Union Station. The bride wore a Vera Wang dress with layered pleats.

In lieu of a traditional guestbook, guests signed vintage postcards.

A mercury glass compote bowl stacked with citrus and roses.

Green apple saltwater taffy.

A mix of pillar and votive candles and spring blooms accented the gold table coverings from Windy City Linen.

The Couple
Paul first laid eyes on Ariel at a business conference in Rome. Two years later, the pair returned to Italy and Paul proposed.

The Details
For an elegant, shabby-chic vibe that hinted at Paul’s English heritage, A Perfect Event brought together bright-colored flowers, gilded mirrors and a sea of candles for the springtime affair.

The Party
Because Ariel’s desire for fireworks was impossible to accommodate downtown, Paul surprised her with a sparklers-lit walk from the Ivy Room to the after-party at Pops for Champagne.
