Sarah Trees & Jonathan Bliley

May 28, 2011 | University Club of Chicago

Sarah and Jonathan said their “I do’s” at St. Chrysostom’s downtown. The bride was beaming in a Kenneth Pool duchess satin ball gown from Ultimate Bride and diamond stud earrings borrowed from her mom.

Dinner in Cathedral Hall was catered by the University Club.

The couple’s getaway car, a 1942 Rolls Royce decorated with a custom sign by Cheree Berry.

Guests took home single-serving cake boxes bound with twine.

The Couple
Scattered showers couldn’t put a damper on Sarah and Jon’s big day. The groom arranged for a five-umbrella escort for his bride to the church.

The Details
Bliss Weddings & Events orchestrated a regal and romantic setting in Cathedral Hall for the affair (think layered linens, vintage-inspired china and candelabras). The couple cut their cake to “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)” by James Taylor.

The Party
After dinner, guests imbibed at “his and hers” bars: a martini and Champagne bar outfitted with antiqued mirrors and a beer bar that boasted Pabst Blue Ribbon and Old Style.
