The grand finale of the social season, Crystal Charity Ball, transported patrons to a snowy Swiss fantasy at the Hilton Anatole.
THE PARTY Ladies and gentlemen in black-tie attire toasted to a year of social success at the gala of all Dallas galas, the Crystal Charity Ball, first with Champagne and then with spiked hot cocoa, in a winter wonderland designed by Bevin Shaw. The year drew in an impressive $5.8 million in funds for eight children’s nonprofit organizations, including Children’s Health and Hunger Busters. THE GUESTS Dressed in jewel-toned gowns and fur for An Evening in the Alps, ever-fashionable women dripping in diamonds held the arms of dapper gentlemen circling the Chantilly Ballroom’s lobby in tandem to bid for auction items. Attendees included Peggy and Carl Sewell, Lisa and Kenny Trout, and Gene and Jerry Jones. THE HIGHLIGHTS More than 1,500 guests enjoyed dinner in the beautifully embellished ballroom before taking to the dance floor for Motown performances. Keeping up with tradition, the cinnamon scent of hot beignets filled the air as guests bid adieu from the alpine chalet with parting gifts from Tiffany & Co. in hand. -Krystal Sarna
