Some of Dallas’ brightest stars attended Dallas Mavericks’ Mavs Ball: Blue Tie Affair at the Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum.
THE PARTY The Dallas Mavericks and more than 600 guests gathered for the annual Mavs Ball, benefiting the Mavs Foundation. This Blue Tie Affair, held at the two-story concert venue The Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum and presented by Smith Thompson Home Security, raised close to $700,000 for nonprofit organizations serving families, women and children in need.
THE GUESTS Robed in accents of blue, the entire Dallas Mavericks team, accompanied by the team’s owner, Mark Cuban, were only a few of the guests at the Mavs Ball: Emcees Mark Followhill and Dana Larson entertained a full house.
THE HIGHLIGHTS While the goal of the night was to raise money for the Mavs Foundation, the players, used to being in uniform, took the chance to try to outdress one another in a Best-Dressed Maverick contest. Magician Dan White, known for his performances on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, was partially assisted by player Deron Williams as he performed. Guests participated in a live auction, bidding on items such as tickets to see the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Stars, while the Taylor Pace Orchestra played, sponsored by Morgan Stanley. -Katie Butler
