Leave it to Ward Village to create one of the most spectacular entryways in Honolulu. For the shimmering new Anaha Tower—the Hawaiian name fittingly means “reflection of light”—Greg and Terri Lee of O‘ahu-based 1st Look Exteriors took nearly year to create a living wall of 8,000 plants. (Think ferns, bromeliads and more cascading through the exterior and interior grand entrance.) The living artwork is a fittingly spectacular yet grounded touch to the eye-catching building designed by Chicago-based firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz in collaboration with Ben Woo Architects Hawaii. The wall is, of course, just one of Anaha’s highlights, which also include a glass-bottom pool, theater, private dining rooms and much more. (The building will also be home to top chef Peter Merriman’s resto.) And while 95 percent of Anaha’s units have been sold, a few select residences from $2 million are still available. Just imagine coming home to an entrance like this.
