Mary Elizabeth Magness & William “Robert” Hand

August 27, 2011 | Houston Country Club

The happy couple traded bites of Romero’s masterpiece.

A bridal party white rose bouquet, wrapped in dupioni silk, by Tara Quigley.

Mary Elizabeth and Robert depart St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. The bride wore Vera Wang from Joan Pillow–A Bridal Salon.

Sauce the Band led the couple out of their reception.

Marlene Romero made the bride’s five-tiered vanilla and almond buttercream cake dressed in lace and flowers.

The Story
It began at a mutual friend’s debutante party, when Robert approached Mary Elizabeth and said, “You are the prettiest girl in the room,” before introducing himself. The rest is history.

The Details
With the help of Alia Rdissi from Belle of the Ball, the couple created a “classic,” all-white evening—complete with a candlelit ballroom. To complement her attendants’ French blue Amsale dresses from Bella Bridesmaid and add a personal touch, the bride pinned each bouquet with a brooch from her grandmother.

The Party
Greeted by Champagne with raspberries, guests reveled in jazz, neon glow rings, a photobooth and plenty of props.
