Circle of Life Gala fueled major support for the hospital’s trauma services and Life Flight program.
THE PARTY An impressive crowd of 1,500 hopped on board the mission for Memorial Hermann’s Circle of Life gala at the Hilton Americas hotel. Anna and Scott McLean chaired the event, which honored famed restaurateurs Donna and Tony Vallone. THE SCENE The hospital system is known for being the world pioneer in helicopter ambulance services, and during dinner, a troupe of real doctors, nurses and staff took to the stage to re-enact a critical car accident and Life Flight transfer to the emergency room. “As the busiest Level I trauma center in the country, Memorial Hermann and its Life Flight operation are truly a unique resource,” Scott McLean noted. THE HIGHLIGHTS After the behind-the-scenes look, the honorees’ grandson, Anthony Vallone, spoke about his own lifesaving experience with the service. His speech helped inspire the crowd to raise an additional $100,000 on the spot, bringing the campaign’s total to whopping $3.3 million.
