A local health foundation celebrated its 15th anniversary with a Roaring ’20s-themed blowout.
THE PARTY More than 1,500 guests attended Altus Foundation’s annual Toast to Living Well gala, making it one of the largest black-tie events in the city. Attendees, along with parent companies ZT Wealth and Altus Health, helped raise more than $675,000 for the foundation, which provides affordable health care to families with limited resources. THE SCENE The Great Gatsby-themed fete roared into the Hilton Americas and featured boa-draped burlesque dancers and jazzy music. Mayor Sylvester Turner and MLB champ Alex Rodriguez both gave remarks, thanking ZT Wealth CEO and Altus Foundation founder Taseer Badar for his tireless philanthropic work. THE HIGHLIGHTS The crowd glittered, the live auction broke records, and casino tables kept high rollers up into the wee hours testing their luck. Since its inception 15 years ago, the foundation has raised nearly $5.5 million. Here’s to 15 more successful years! -Ray Dennison
