Freelance photographer Barry Tse got an up-close-and-personal view of the acrobatic performance, which featured the performers dramatically bending in the air. “All of a sudden, one of the performers pretended to lose his balance, and it threw everyone off because it was so sudden,” says Tse, who was only six feet away. “Each performer interacted with members of the audience, like handing out a flower to a kid, or trying to dip low enough to hold their hand.” The troupe, whose performance, titled The Field, was inspired by images of wheat swaying in the breeze, formed in 1994 and performs globally year-round.
