Artist Leah Tinari takes over Bergdorf Goodman with inspirational accessories.

“I had painted a project for my son of all the U.S. presidents for his bedroom—and after painting 45 predominantly white men, I was frustrated,” explains Manhattan-based artist Leah Tinari. The RISD-educated painter transformed that frustration into something fabulous with her latest book, Limitless: 24 Remarkable American Women of Vision, Grit and Guts ($20, Simon & Schuster). In the book, Tinari honors trailblazing women ranging from Louisa May Alcott to Eve Ensler, Carrie Fisher and Abby Wambach. And now thanks to a special collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman, her powerful portrayals are moving beyond the page. Slated to debut on International Women’s Day on March 8 and running through March 24, Tinari’s installation at Bergdorf Goodman will center upon the idea of the “Bergdorf GoodWoman.” Custom-painted Handvaerk tees ($150), Staud handbags (from $500) and Greats sneakers (from $600) will be emblazoned with a melange of powerful messages and depictions of Tinari’s iconic female heroes. The pop-up will also display the book as well as her paintings, which range in size from 40x40 to 60x60 ($8,000 to $15,000). “Being a New Yorker, I am always thinking about the New York woman. To me, the Bergdorf GoodWoman is someone who is empowered, strong and a doer. She is a woman living her truth and getting things done.” 754 Fifth Ave.,
