Along with sunny skies and Opening Day for the Yankees and Mets, the blossoming of the Park Avenue tulips is another reminder that spring has finally arrived.
Park Avenue at 60th Street
Each year, more than 50,000 bulbs are planted along the avenue’s medians. The Fund for Park Avenue, the beautification group that transforms our concrete jungle into an urban garden, organizes and cares for the tulips. Although the varieties change (this year, expect blooms in shades of red), the theme remains the same: Spring is in the air.
