BUCKET LIST Kick in the adrenaline with a heli-ski expedition. 

The St. Regis Aspen Resort ( is offering a new Uphill/Downhill package in partnership with Aspen Expeditions Worldwide ( starting January 2017. Enjoy a three-night stay at the resort, a day of uphill and downhill skiing with Aspen Expeditions, customized daily fitness and yoga classes (such as ski conditioning), and the new Altitude Recovery Massage at the resort’s Remède Spa. Package is available for two people with a three-night minimum stay, starting at $4,227

Also in Aspen, the Limelight Hotel ( and Aspen Mountain Powder Tours ( have teamed up to offer guests of the hotel (as well as guests of The Little Nell and the Residences at The Little Nell) a day of powder on a guided cat skiing and riding tour. The experience includes an average of 10 to 15 untracked powder runs on the backside of Aspen Mountain followed by a gourmet lunch at the Powder Tours cabin. $465 per person or $400 per person for a group of 10

If heli-skiing has been on your bucket list, there’s no better place than Telluride Ski Resort ( to try it out for the first time. For three days, you’ll ski with one of Telluride’s most experienced instructors. The first two days will be on selected slopes within the Telluride Ski Area in order to develop skills and experience in conditions and terrain similar to what you’ll ski from the helicopter. On the third day, you’ll jump on the helicopter with your coach and a guide from Helitrax, and head out into the San Juan backcountry. Single-day heli-ski trip from $1,200 per person

Over in Canada, Whistler Blackcomb ( is offering an elite Snow School program, called Ski or Ride With an Olympian. It offers guests a full day of skiing or riding with the opportunity to hear stories, get tips and spend time on the mountain with an Olympic athlete as a personal guide (maximum five people). Like all other Snow School lessons, this program also gives guests lift-line priority. From $710 per day

A new Whistler-based company, Headine Mountain Holidays (, is offering once-in-a-lifetime luxury travel experiences to the British Columbia resort. Choose from unique adventures like the helicopter-assisted ice cap adventure, which includes a chopper ride to the Pemberton Ice Fields followed by an Arctic-like expedition on snowbikes or snowmobiles across 8,000-foot ice fields and over mountaintops to secret ice caves. From $1,195 per person

At Big Sky Resort ( in Montana, you don’t have to wait for the chairlifts to open to explore amazing terrain. With Big Sky’s First Tracks Guided Experience, you’ll have full access to the slopes an hour before the lifts open. Avalanche safety equipment is included (so you can access the most challenging terrain), and a private mountain guide will lead you to secret snow stashes. $495-$600 for a half-day, $730-$860 for a full day

The Limelight Hotel Ketchum (, which is set to open this winter, is offering the Sun Valley Heli Experience with access to untracked powder on three pristine Idaho mountain ranges. Sun Valley Heli Ski will take your crew on a daylong adventure, of skiing 10,000 to 15,000 vertical feet of Idaho’s deepest and lightest powder with some of the most experienced guides in the business. From $1,475 per person, rooms from $360 per night
