Celebrate National Heritage Bourbon Month this September with any—or all—of these five stiff cocktails.

Bittersweet Symphony
As one of Wynwood’s premier watering holes, Beaker & Gray has a colorful collection of cocktails on the bill created by bar manager Ben Potts. Our pick is the Cocoa Boulevardier ($13) made with Wild Turkey 101 bourbon, Campari, Cinzano 1757 and chocolate. 2637 N. Miami Ave., Miami, 305.699.2637

Out of the Ordinary
At KYU, dishes feature ingredients that may not seem to go together but taste extraordinary when paired. The same idea applies to the restaurant’s cocktails. Case in point: the Foo KYU Julep ($16), made with Old Forester bourbon, fresh muddled mint, agave and sake. 251 NW 25th St., Miami, 786.577.0150

Shared Experiences
The newly opened Brazilian-based seafood concept Coco Bambu is all about shareable dishes. Cocktails, however, are all about individual imbibing. The North East Sour ($15) includes Bulleit rye bourbon, yuzu juice, grenadine, egg whites and Peychaud’s Bitters. 955 Alton Road, Miami Beach, 786.348.0770

Great Reserve
Nothing compliments a fresh cut at StripSteak like the Reserve Old-Fashioned ($25), a mix of Michter’s 10-year bourbon, orange and angostura bitters. 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 305.674.4780

Italian Interests
Macchialina is well-known its fresh Italian cuisine and lively bar. When there, try The Speck-tacular Now ($14), a savory libation made with speck-infused Old Forester bourbon, honey clove syrup and bitters—all topped off with an orange peel. 820 Alton Road, Miami Beach, 305.534.2124
