Five-Star Touch

International magnate Vladislav Doronin brings his Aman sensibilities to Miami real estate.

 As the chairman and CEO of the 30-year-old Aman, the world’s foremost luxury hotel chain, Vladislav Doronin is hardly a dark horse in the hospitality world. And even though he only recently entered Miami’s do-or-die real estate development race, it would be unwise to bet against his presumable success filling Una in South Brickell and Missoni Baia in Edgewater, both of which are slated to welcome residents in 2021.

“I’ve always wanted to build a tower in Miami, even from my first visit in the 1990s,” says Doronin, an unabashed bon vivant whose Google search yields endless photos of him aboard megayachts and alongside supermodels. “With my 25 years of experience, developing 71 buildings and 75 million square feet of property internationally, my development projects offer what the market demands today. I make my buildings look unique using the top architects and interior designers, and I make them more original by installing outstanding amenities and excellent-quality finishes.”

Una and Missoni Baia certainly live up to that statement with bells and whistles too numerous to mention and price points well into the millions.
Originally from Russia—where he owns the only Zaha Hadid-designed private residence in the world—Doronin says he rather enjoys spending time in Miami at his Star Island home: “It’s important to me to live in a quiet place and to be close to the water—it makes me feel energized.”

And while his global real estate development firm OKO Group also has a commercial building in Brickell underway, Doronin hints more residential projects are in the works, along with the possibility of an Aman property nearby in the foreseeable future—provided he finds the perfect site. “In due course,” he says. “All in due course.”
