The mere mention of Tata Harper’s name sends fans into rose-, lavender- and jasmine-tinged trances, and now that her first eponymous spa and retail boutique has opened in the tony Jade Signature condo tower in Sunny Isles Beach, its residents and their guests will have the chance to get more immersed than ever in the brand’s sublime flower power.
Born in Colombia, Harper currently runs her company from a farm in Vermont, but it was the eight years she spent in Miami that inspired a location-appropriate menu of services that include manicures, pedicures, facials, body treatments and massages, some of which incorporate jade stone rollers and healing crystals. “It’s about bringing more,” says Harper. “All of our treatments are lengthy and involve multiple steps, massages, various masks—incorporating product and massaging it deep into the skin is key.” The spa’s ambiance is in tune with what one would expect from the renowned brand, with terrazzo floors, woven furnishings and an opalescent lobby wall mosaic.
Embracing everything good nature has to offer became Harper’s main focus in 2005 when a family member was diagnosed with cancer. “I began to realize how much lifestyle plays into our health,” she recalls. Planting a seed in Miami now makes sense for a blossoming company that’s dedicated solely to synthetic-free, nontoxic, 100 percent organic products.
“Miami [residents] are living this new wellness lifestyle [and] we all want to live longer, have more energy and be beautiful at the same time,” adds Harper. “Natural beauty is the ultimate luxury.” 16901 Collins Ave., Sunny Isles Beach, 305.940.0335
