Artist and forward thinker Christo enchants Miami.
THE OCCASION The Christo and Jeanne-Claude: Surrounded Islands exhibition at the Pérez Art Museum Miami sure got the city in the mood to celebrate. The show was feted with a dinner at the home of PAMM benefactors David and Linda Frankel, a VIP opening at the museum and a talk and book signing (also at PAMM) led by Christo himself. THE CROWD It seemed like all of Miami turned out for the various events. At the aforementioned supper, everyone from collector Alexa Wolman to PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans broke bread while the talk and book signing attracted hundreds of arts and architecture enthusiasts. THE HIGHLIGHTS The engaging Christo guided guests through a slideshow of projects he and the late Jeanne-Claude worked on for more than six decades before opening the floor to questions from the audience. - Michael Muzquiz
