Since its openings in the Design District and Aventura Mall, Louis Vuitton has raised the bar on its Miami celebrations. For Basel 2013, LV regulars were not disappointed. The label held three different affairs, but the most coveted invite was the private dinner hosted by Louis Vuitton Malletier Chairman and CEO Michael Burke and DACRA President Craig Robins at the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach.
As well curated as any Basel-worthy exhibit, the guest list included entertainers, designers, society matrons and party types galore! Among them were actress Michelle Williams, LV women’s designer Julie de Libran, philanthropist Becca Cason Thrash, musician Pharrell Williams, model Cindy Crawford and her husband, nightlife impresario Rande Gerber.
The purpose of the evening was to celebrate the debut of “La Maison au bord de l’eau,” a modular home that was built on the sands behind the Raleigh based on blueprints long ago created by Charlotte Perriand, a French architect who was the muse for LV’s 2014 Icônes women’s collection. Guests had dinner under the stars in front of the structure and then spent part of the evening touring the house and its various rooms. –Photos by Wilson Parish
